materialfluss: The coronavirus pandemic has really shaken up the market. How is your company currently doing and which of your products gave you the most economic pleasure in 2020?
Jürgen Schultz: The coronavirus pandemic has also presented us with particular challenges. Some sectors, such as the automotive industry and the catering industry, suffered significant setbacks during the coronavirus pandemic.
product range, bekuplast was able to compensate for the massive declines in the areas particularly hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The slump in oil prices in the second quarter also enabled us to save costs when purchasing raw materials, but this price advantage was used up by the end of 2020. Retail-related items have performed particularly well this year. Containers for food, online retail and containers in the do-it-yourself segment have gained in importance. All in all, we survived 2020 relatively well, even though there were extreme challenges for the sales team.

mfl: What new products or further developments can readers of materialfluss expect in the first quarter of 2021?
Schultz: We are continuously expanding our product range. The expansion of our Clever Fresh Box range certainly deserves a special mention. A new collapsible container with a basic size of 400 x 300 mm is planned for the beginning of 2021. We are also focusing on developments for intralogistics, including the expansion of the contecline intralogistics container series.
