Rhenus expands its air and sea freight network in Germany

The Rhenus Group is expanding its presence in Germany by opening Air & Ocean offices in Hanover and Dortmund. The company is primarily targeting customers from the Hanover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg metropolitan region and the Rhine-Ruhr region with the new sites.

In addition to international transportation, Rhenus also offers the handling of all import and export customs formalities as well as combined air and sea freight services at the new branches on the Lower Rhine. The service sector and the manufacturing industry are particularly strong in the Hanover-Brunswick-Göttingen-Wolfsburg region. The Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, one of the largest metropolitan regions in Europe, is home to more than 10 million people, large corporations and numerous medium-sized companies.

"The German market is of strategic importance to us. Industry and trade, such as the automotive sector and the chemical industry, are particularly strong here. Germany not only has a central location in Central Europe, but also boasts a good infrastructure and international trade contacts," said Tobias Bartz, a member of the Rhenus Management Board. The connections to America and Asia are particularly important for Rhenus Air & Ocean Deutschland. Rhenus Air & Ocean currently operates 13 sites in Germany.
