In future, lightweight paper elements could replace a large proportion of the usual wooden planks used to distribute loads on air freight pallets. trilatec has developed a new type of system, squAIRtimber, and now has Jettainer, a service partner for outsourced loading equipment management, at its side as a sales partner.

The "paper beams" are made from a special cardboard fiber composite according to the carbon principle and are up to 80 percent lighter than conventional wooden planks, without sacrificing load-bearing capacity. When loaded, one meter of the material can carry up to five tons with a dead weight of just 1.2 kilograms per meter (dead weight of wood: 3-4 kilograms per meter). squAIR-timber is made from 100 percent recycled material, is cost-effective and can be disposed of with the paper waste without any problems.

"The innovative system immediately convinced us with its approach that increases both efficiency and environmental compatibility. By partnering with trilatec, we are expanding our portfolio and emphasizing that Jettainer integrates innovative solutions in the core area of loading equipment management as well as in the area of related services and products," said Martin Kraemer, Head of Marketing & PR at Jettainer, in Berlin.

Andreas Langemann, Managing Director of trilatec GmbH, explained the cooperation: "Jettainer is the leading partner for airlines when it comes to loading equipment and stands for both reliability and innovation. The sales cooperation for our squAIR-timber product offers us optimum access to airlines worldwide."
