The purchase of the aircraft is part of the modernization of DHL's intercontinental fleet in order to fly in a more environmentally friendly and cost-efficient manner. The measure also takes into account the continuing increase in demand for global express capacities. The original passenger aircraft will be converted to freighters by Boeing.

"We are delighted to be adding more B767 freighters to our fleet," said Geoff Kehr, SVP Global Air Fleet Management at DHL Express. "The 767-300F has been an integral part of our global network for many years. We are therefore pleased to continue to invest in Boeing with the purchase of additional 767-300BCFs. This versatile freighter gives us the opportunity to increase our efficiency while improving our environmental footprint. This will bring us step by step closer to the goals of our Strategy 2025 and ensure that we can offer our customers the best possible quality of service."

Boeing's 767 freighters are characterized by low direct operating costs and a high payload to total mass ratio. The 767-300BCF model has the same cargo capacity as the 767-300F series freighter. It has a payload of approximately 50 tons, a range of approximately 5,556 kilometers and a maximum take-off weight of 186,880 kilograms.
