Airfreight: Cargonexx strengthens management team with Tom Krause and Bert Manke

Hamburg, 05.10.2017 - Logistics startup Cargonexx is stepping on the gas pedal in terms of growth with a strengthened management team and is bringing expertise into the driver's cab with Tom Krause (pictured) and Bert Manke. Tom Krause took over the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Cargonexx on October 1. As a graduate computer scientist and entrepreneur with 16 years of experience in technology-oriented start-ups and listed companies, Krause is ideally qualified for this role. He was previously instrumental in the rise of Delivery Hero and contributed to the IPO of the start-up, which currently has a market capitalization of 5.25 billion euros. As Director of Logistic Operations at Delivery Hero, the computer science graduate and IT manager was responsible for all technical logistics systems and operations with almost 6,000 employees worldwide. In this role, the 40-year-old led the subsidiary Foodora to become the most efficient and automated last-mile logistics provider in the world. Tom Krause is looking forward to getting into the fast lane with Cargonexx: "Artificial intelligence is the future and Cargonexx is the first mover in the logistics sector. The principle of one-click trucking is about to completely revolutionize the industry. That's why I was immediately hooked and can hardly wait to put the visions of Cargonexx founder Rolf-Dieter Lafrenz and his team on the road."

Bert Manke recently joined the Cargonexx management team as the new Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). A graduate of the renowned EBS University of Business and Law, Bert Manke's previous positions include Managing Director at S-Dax company MPC Capital. Most recently, as Managing Partner of tailorjack.de, the 48-year-old helped the online platform for tailor-made business clothing to become the market leader in Germany. "If you compare logistics with other industries, the topic of digitalization is still in the starting blocks. We want to change this with Cargonexx and at the same time face the challenge of introducing new technologies to a traditional industry. I'm really looking forward to this, because the potential is overwhelming," says Manke.
