A rare guest at Frankfurt Airport: the Antontov AN-124, currently the second largest transport aircraft in the world, recently landed there.

The aircraft of the Russian airline group Volga-Dnepr is specialized in the transport of particularly large and heavy cargo. For yesterday's flight, it offered the right conditions for the large-volume technical cargo. With an empty weight of around 193 tons and a length of almost 70 meters, the aircraft can transport up to 120 tons of freight. Loading takes place either through the tailgate or the folded-up "nose". The visit to Frankfurt was short-lived: a few hours after landing, the aircraft left the airport again.
