E&K presents new transport robot

With the new Vario Move transport robot, E&K Automation, supplier of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), aims to set new standards.

With Vario Move, users benefit from a well thought-out, maintenance-friendly design, a modular concept and a considerably longer life cycle compared to standard industrial trucks, according to the supplier.

"Plug & Play" concept
Designed for the sustainable optimization of transport and material flows, the fully automated transport robot meets various transport requirements. The flexibly configurable industrial truck consists of a drive unit that can be equipped with various load handling devices via an interface.

EK Automation provides various standardized modules for this purpose, which fulfil the most frequently required transport tasks. According to the company, the vehicles can also be equipped with all major navigation technologies available on the market. Their innovative Li-ion energy system is maintenance-free, enables fully automated charging and ensures high availability during operation.

Simplified maintenance
With the design of the Vario Move, EK Automation also wanted to simplify maintenance, as all vehicle components are easily accessible thanks to quickly removable panels. The lower part of the vehicle front, the solidly constructed "bumper area" including safety technology such as personal protection scanners, can be quickly replaced separately in the event of damage. The standardized design of the vehicles for different tasks also reduces the amount of training required for in-house technicians.

As both the drive unit and the various load handling attachments are standardized and are attached via a uniform interface, no extra adjustments need to be made with Vario Move. This reduces the delivery time.
