New Pick-2-Light software for assembly control systems presented (Advertorial)

At Automatica 2018, InSystems Automation will be presenting its new Pick-2-Light (P2L) software (GUI) for assembly control systems at Pick-2-Light workstations with P2L sensors (CAN bus). It allows assembly control systems to be set up and controlled in a user-friendly way and easily without programming knowledge.

According to forecasts, demand for pick-2-light technology will grow considerably in the coming years, reaching global sales of around USD 548 million by 2023 (source: Jessica Aniston (May 2018): "Global Pick to Light Market will be hitting new highs " http://www.exclusivereportage.com). InSystems has been equipping assembly workstations with P2L sensors since 2013. Its customers are often medium-sized, owner-managed companies that are highly specialized and supply globally. The hotspots in Germany are located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. Pick-2-Light is of interest to a wide range of industrial sectors, such as high-frequency technology, security technology, fittings technology, electrical engineering, the automotive supply industry and the manufacture of electric motors.

Since this year, the company has also been providing its customers with new software (GUI) that requires little prior knowledge and is user-friendly to set up and control. Once the product has been selected, the software controls the Pick-2-Light sensors in the correct sequence and monitors the correct assembly or picking process. Any number of assembly recipes or picking orders (parts lists, sequences, work instructions) can be created and managed. With the P2L software, the P2L sensors (CAN bus) and a CAN bus-USB adapter, customers receive a complete intelligent assembly control system that is particularly suitable for manual assembly of assemblies with many variants and small batch sizes (up to 1 piece).
