Jungheinrich: New logistics center for HEWI G. Winker
HEWI G. Winker GmbH & Co. KG, the Spaichingen-based specialist for locknuts and fasteners, is investing 15 million euros in a new production and logistics building with 13,340 square meters of covered space. The ground-breaking ceremony took place at the beginning of July, and Plant 2 in Spaichingen is scheduled to go into production in fall 2017. As the general contractor for intralogistics, HEWI commissioned Jungheinrich with the realization of the project. A three-aisle silo pallet high-bay warehouse (HBW) with 9,888 storage locations is to be built on the site. The 57-metre-long and 25-metre-high racking system for the double-deep storage of pallets as well as the roof, wall and platform construction will be realized by Jungheinrich. The scope of supply also includes three storage and retrieval machines with a capacity of 93 double cycles per hour from Jungheinrich subsidiary MIAS as well as the automatic pallet conveyor technology. The control technology for the automated warehouse and the conveyor technology, including the warehouse management and material flow computer, will be installed by specialists from Jungheinrich Systemlösungen GmbH in Graz.
