Customer-oriented and German-speaking throughout

At the end of 2018, the Spanish intralogistics company AR Racking increased its focus on the German market and established a branch in Duisburg. Jörn Buschmann, Head of Sales Racking Systems, was added to the team in mid-May 2019.

materialfluss spoke to the industry expert about his newly expanded team.

materialfluss: AR Racking has set up its own technical group in Germany. What is their task and what are the considerations behind the new structure?
Jörg Buschmann: The tasks of the three men are to provide comprehensive support for sales activities for our "Integration" and "Conventional Racking Systems" divisions and, of course, for order processing. This puts us in a position to react even faster and more competently to customer requirements, to ensure consistent German-speaking support and thus to be able to offer our customers the best possible service.
German-language support and thus be available to the market in an even more customer-oriented manner.

mfl: Which employees work in the technical group, in which function and where did you work before?
Buschmann: Rainer Göttel is taking on the role of Technical Director DACH Region. He is very well known and networked within the industry thanks to his more than twenty years in the intralogistics sector. He gained his first experience at BITO and has now found his way to AR Racking via Stow. He has held various positions in the aforementioned companies: product manager, head of the project department and finally technical manager. In these roles, he has always been very sales-oriented and was also responsible for the sale of dynamic racking systems. His high level of specialist knowledge and his expertise in the sometimes very extensive and complex topic of "approval procedures" in the context of project realization is also very important for us. Mr. Lang and Mr. Lind have joined us together with Mr. Göttel. Stefan Lang has over eight years' experience as a project/team leader for major customers and automated storage systems and works for us as a project manager. Kevin Lind is responsible for CAD / technical engineering. As a mechanical engineer, he has acquired his specialist knowledge of racking system applications over a period of four years.

mfl: In addition, the German office has moved...
Buschmann: As part of these activities, we have made some corrections to the previous orientation.
previous orientation. Among other things, the Duisburg office was relocated to Rüdesheim (Bad Kreuznach). This is more centrally located and is the workplace of the technical group. We will also be strengthening our sales activities this year in order to achieve the desired "pull effect". We are pleased to note that AR has also become an attractive employer in Germany and that we are currently receiving a large number of initial applications.

mfl: How has the dealer and distributor sector developed?
Buschmann: We started in this sector on the German market a few years ago and have been extremely successful with our partners ever since. We are currently consolidating our sales model in this area. We have several dealers who have been loyal to our brand for many years and, fortunately, we have recently been able to acquire further new and interesting partners.
