MirrorCam instead of exterior mirrors

One particularly striking innovation: instead of conventional exterior mirrors, the model uses the so-called MirrorCam. This replaces both the main and wide-angle mirrors. The typical headlights with LED daytime running lights also contribute to the new look. The new LED daytime running lights fitted as standard are designed to help other road users see the vehicle as clearly as possible.

Driver "user experience" determines cockpit design

The interior design has been tailored to the needs of the driver in particular. Two free-floating, high-resolution displays in the multimedia cockpit can be operated via touch control pads in the redesigned steering wheel. The secondary display can also be controlled directly via the touchscreen. Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG: " The new Actros is revolutionary from a design point of view. The focus is no longer primarily on the exterior - i.e. steel and iron. Rather, the interaction between driver and truck takes center stage. This can be seen at first glance in the new interior. It is clean in the sense of modern and, with the new HMI, absolutely high-tech and digital." The multimedia cockpit also makes it possible to call up the functions of the assistance systems, such as Predictive Powertrain Control and Active Drive Assist.
