Time travel through the milestones of logistics history

During a glittering gala dinner at the Federal Ministry of Transport, 13 new members were inducted into the Logistic Hall of Fame.
At the end of November, 170 guests of honor accompanied the official induction of the newly elected members into the logistics hall of fame with standing ovations. The certificates made of glass and metal were presented by the evening's laudators, Parliamentary State Secretary Dorothee Bär MdB, Otto Group CEO Hans-Otto Schrader, Prof. Dr. Katja Windt, President of Jacobs University, Hall of Fame member Detthold Aden, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Kersten, Director of the Institute for Logistics and Corporate Management at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, SVG Federal Chairman Werner Gockeln and Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe AG.
Motto of choice: Historic Milestones of Logistics
They honored the achievements of logistics pioneers and took them on a journey through the great moments in logistics history. The motto of the vote was "Historic Milestones of Logistics". They included Franz von Taxis and Johann Baptista von Taxis, founders of the international postal system, Henry Ford and Ransom Eli Olds, inventors of the assembly line, James E. Casey, inventor of parcel services and founder of UPS, the barcode inventors Norman Joseph Woodland, George Laurer and Bernard Silver as well as Lothar Raucamp, fighter for the cooperative idea and founder of Kravag, Gerhard Schäfer, initiator of the system concept in container logistics, Horst Mosolf, pioneer of vehicle logistics, CEO and Fedex founder Frederick W. Smith and Prof. Dr. Peer Witten, pioneer of Internet commerce and modern logistics.
