SSI Schäfer: Schaeffler Group builds distribution center
The automotive and industrial supplier from Herzogenaurach in central Franconia has commissioned SSI Schaefer as general contractor for the intralogistics of its new European Distribution Center (EDC Center) in Kitzingen. According to the company, one of the most modern logistics centers in Europe is currently being built on an approximately 75-hectare site with an automated high-bay warehouse (HBW), an automated small parts warehouse (AS/RS) and innovative robot technology. SSI Schaefer will install a 7-aisle high-bay warehouse, comprehensive pallet and container conveyor technology and an electric floor conveyor (EBB).
