F.X. Rauscher concludes follow-up order with reBuy
reBuy reCommerce GmbH has expanded its five-storey shelving system in the Berlin logistics center for the second time with Franz X. Rauscher KG. As with the first order, the warehouse technology specialist from the Swabian town of Thannhausen used every available centimetre of the hall space for the 11.5-metre-high 750 m2 extension with individually manufactured shelves. On 10,000 m² of logistics and storage space in Berlin-Rudow, the buy and sell store reBuy serves over 2.5 million used electronics and media items in 13 categories. For the rapidly growing business, F.X. Rauscher has once again expanded the shelving system, which now covers a total of 3,900 m². The new section covers an area of 23.5 by 31 meters. After six weeks of assembly, Rauscher F.X. handed over the almost identical section on schedule in June 2016. Like the first section, the facility includes four suspended ceilings, a smoke-tight stairwell and a continuous sprinkler system. Compared to the originally purchased shelving system with shelves measuring 1,000 mm and 1,300 mm in length, the two construction sections use around five percent more space. With a shelf depth of 300 to 400 mm, the lengths of the slightly sloping shelves (1,225 and 1,075 mm) are adapted to the plastic containers and the geometry of the hall. The system can also be adapted to any change in the product range without tools by simply rearranging the shelves and can be extended with the next construction phase.
