Fully automated dispatch line for packaging retailers
Ratioform Verpackungen GmbH trades in packaging for shipping, warehouses and offices. Across Europe, the packaging retailer has the largest selection of packaging articles available for immediate dispatch on 32,000 square meters and 68,000 pallet spaces. Ratioform relies on the KBU-LVS warehouse management system from KBU-Logistik GmbH to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In order to supply customers even faster and more reliably, Ratioform decided to centralize its Germany-wide shipping operations at the central warehouse in Pliening near Munich. For the central warehouse, this meant that the shipping volume handled would increase by 250 percent. "Various modifications were necessary for this to work at all. The outgoing goods process also had to be adapted," explains Dominik Sager, Head of Logistics at Ratioform. With the support of KBU-Logistik's warehouse management system, a fully automated shipping line was integrated into Ratioform's outgoing goods department. The optimized shipping process was mapped in KBU-LVS and is now used for shipping in several halls.
