Colás succeeds Seigo Kinugawa, who will return to Japan to head the Global Business Process and IT Innovation HQ. Colás began his career at Omron in 1985 in sales and marketing. Over the past 37 years, he has spent more than two decades in senior positions, including General Manager Iberia and Division Manager EMEA.

Since 2015, Colás has been General Director of Marketing EMEA, responsible for product and industry marketing and technical support, as well as coordinating post-merger integration. During this time, Colás has been instrumental in the implementation of Omron's Value Generation 2020 (VG2.0) transformation strategy, which helps manufacturers achieve flexible, efficient and sustainable manufacturing through the use of Omron's innovative automation concept.

Colás comments: "I am very much looking forward to my new role. My goal is to implement the first important measures in Omron's long-term strategic plan 2030 in the EMEA region. We will continue to look for new ways to make a positive impact on people's lives around the world. Our core technologies in sensing, control, robotics and artificial intelligence will enable manufacturers to adapt their production to the challenges of today and tomorrow."

Colás, who was born in Spain, has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Alcalá de Henares and an Executive Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the Instituto de Empresa (IE Business School) in Madrid.
