Reinforcement for the top management
Eric Malitzke becomes head of DPD Germany
The management of DPD Deutschland GmbH is to be strengthened with immediate effect by Eric Malitzke (46). After a familiarization phase lasting several months, he will take over as CEO of DPD Germany at the beginning of 2020. The long-standing CEO Boris Winkelmann, who has been at the helm of DPD since 2013, will assume new responsibilities at the Paris headquarters of the international DPDgroup next year and until then is preparing the orderly handover to his successor at DPD Germany.
"We are delighted that in Eric Malitzke we have gained a leader with relevant industry experience who will continue to drive the development of DPD Germany forward," says DPD CEO Boris Winkelmann. "After an intensive phase of integration and transformation into a premium parcel service for the B2B and B2C segments, it is now time to further advance the efficiency and innovative capacity of DPD Germany. Eric Malitzke has the ideal profile to lead our successful strategy into this new development phase following an orderly handover."
Eric Malitzke has been CEO of Fiege Switzerland for the international Fiege Group, one of Europe's leading contract logistics companies, since 2015. Prior to this, he had been Director Operations at Amazon since 2012, where he managed the development of the Amazon logistics centers in Poland. Born in Frankfurt, he began his career at Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport. Malitzke was Managing Director of Leipzig/Halle Airport from 2003 before moving to Deutsche Post in 2009 as Head of the DHL hub in Leipzig.
