The name change comes after the investor Standard Investment from Amsterdam acquired the packaging division of Quadient in Drachten, the Netherlands, on August 1.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The new owner took over all 300 employees and announced that it would invest in the further development of CVP Everest and CVP Impack. The two automated packaging systems for the production of form-fit cartons have revolutionized the packaging and shipping strategy of numerous international retail and e-commerce companies.

Sparck Technologies wants to continue the success story of sustainable 3D packaging systems. The company is based at its production site in Drachten in the Netherlands, where research and development, technical service, marketing and sales are also located. The company also has branches in the USA, Germany, France and the UK.

Claus Weigel, Senior International Sales Manager in the DACH region, emphasizes: "The development of innovations and application of high-tech technologies are anchored in our company's DNA. This will continue to be the case. In 2014, we were one of the first companies in the world to enter the niche market for high-speed production of customized shipping parcels. With this many years of experience in international business, we are not new to the market. Our customers will not only notice the new logo on the service technicians' clothing, but also further developments in service and technology."

Weigel says of the new owner: "Standard Investment is perfectly positioned to provide us with the resources we need to grow and further develop our innovations. We not only want to drive forward our automated packaging systems, but also improve and continuously expand our service, support and sales capacities in the international expansion markets."

Herbert Schilperoord, Partner at Standard Investment, says of the newly acquired company: "Sparck Technlogies is the technology leader in the global market for automated packaging systems. Its award-winning CVP Everest and CVP Impack solutions are trusted by world-class companies around the world for their reliability, speed and precision in producing sustainable, cost-effective shipping packages. We are convinced that every single package produced with these machines is a brand ambassador for Sparck Technologies." The CVP Everest automated packaging system produces up to 1,100 form-fill-seal shipping packages per hour, while the CVP Impack produces up to 500. Both systems offer a solution to e-commerce shippers facing growing order volumes, labor shortages and rising shipping costs. The systems are installed in twelve countries.

The new owner is working on launching the packaging systems in other markets, with a focus on the European and North American markets.

Standard Investment was founded in 2004 and owns eighteen companies with more than 4,300 employees. Its turnover amounts to more than one billion euros.
