The material flow speaks
Marvin Meyke says: Keeping an overview through networking!
In our digital, networked world, traditional transport and logistics services are no longer sufficient; those who cannot also use software will not have a bright future ahead of them, explains Prof. Michael Henke from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) in his guest commentary "Software beherrschen!" in the first-ever special issue "Software in Logistics and Transport 2021".
In times of corona and supply chains under pressure, the importance of good networking in logistics has become clearer than ever before. The right software solutions can ensure transparency both in the supply chain and in the warehouse and facilitate decision-making in confusing times. You will find the special issue integrated into this issue of materialfluss from page 45 onwards. You can discover a compact and clear market overview of logistics software and warehouse management systems on page 60.
Another highlight of this issue of materialfluss: For the first time, Steffen Bersch, CEO of SSI Schaefer, talks to editor-in-chief Martin Schrüfer in an exclusive interview about his first seven months at the helm of the intralogistics specialist and how the company intends to raise its "voice for sustainable, economical and future-proof intralogistics" in the future.
An exciting user story about a retrofit project at DPD's parcel distribution center in Worms can be found on page 20. SEW-Eurodrive, the automation expert from Bruchsal, supplied the DPD site with new drive technology for highly efficient sorting operations.
For the second time, materialfluss is once again looking for the best and most innovative products in the industry.
and winter to vote for the materialfluss PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR 2021. Readers have until November 2 to present products and projects in the various categories.
