A hygiene concept to protect the health of all exhibitors, visitors, speakers and employees has been drawn up by Leipziger Messe and approved by the relevant authorities. The practice-oriented specialist program rounds off the offerings at this year's GGS.

"The industry is developing new products, solutions and service offerings, even in these challenging times. It is therefore very important to provide a platform for the latest trends and finally create live experiences for the industry again. The GGS in November this year will make exactly that possible and will thus also contribute to stimulating the economy," says Project Director Matthias Kober, adding: "Our trade fair will present an interesting and attractive range of exhibitors from market leaders, innovative SMEs and service providers in all product areas."

Among the well-known exhibitors at the upcoming GGS are asecos, Dachser, DENIOS, DGM Deutschland, Linde Material Handling, Prodinger, Protectoplus Lager- und Umwelttechnik, Rainer Ladungssicherungstechnik, richter & heß Industrie- und Gefahrgutverpackung, Stöbich technology and TÜV Rheinland.

In addition to the numerous returning exhibitors, various new exhibitors have also been acquired: Bluhm Systeme, Cordstrap, Expresso, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, MPM Germany, Schoeller Allibert Swiss and Vetter Industrie, for example, will be presenting their innovations at the GGS for the first time. Companies that are still interested in participating in the trade fair can still register.

Hygiene concept for health protection

The basis for holding this year's GGS is the Corona Protection Ordinance of the Saxon state government of June 3, 2020, which expressly permits trade fairs and congresses with suitable hygiene concepts. The hygiene concept developed by Leipziger Messe, which will also be used for the GGS, has already been approved by the Leipzig City Health Department.

The hygiene concept of Leipziger Messe is based on three central building blocks: maintaining a distance of 1.5 meters, compliance with hygiene rules and contact tracing. GGS exhibitors and visitors will find comprehensive protective measures in Exhibition Hall 2 and the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL).

This year, GGS visitors will receive their tickets exclusively digitally via the online ticket store on the trade fair website. As part of the online ticket purchase, participants will be registered to ensure the traceability of contacts. The online ticket store for GGS 2020 is already open.

Diverse specialist program

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for the GGS 2020 can look forward to a varied specialist program with practice-oriented contributions that provide impetus for the industry and invite networking in addition to the exhibition offerings. In the midst of the trade fair action in Hall 2, short presentations in the Open Forum and product presentations in the Action Center will be inviting.

The German Dangerous Goods Association (GGVD), the conceptual sponsor of the GGS, organizes daily changing lecture blocks on current topics in dangerous goods logistics. On November 24, the upcoming innovations of ADR 2021 will be presented, among other things. The second day of the trade fair will focus, for example, on the storage of hazardous substances in portable containers. On the last day of the trade fair, "Dangerous goods by post" will be on the agenda alongside other presentations. In addition, the GGVD will hold its general meeting on November 25 as an in-person event at the GGS in Leipzig - and also online.

A highlight of the specialist program promises to be the Denios Hazardous Substances Day, which will take place for the first time on 24 November as part of the GGS. It will include topics such as water protection, environmental liability and the storage of lithium-ion batteries, as well as emergency leakage training.

Once again this year, all expert visitors are invited to take part in the "Dangerous goods transport - find the mistakes!" campaign. The aim is to find prepared defects in the vehicle equipment, the load securing, the loaded packages and the accompanying documents for a dangerous goods transport on and in a truck placed in the exhibition hall.
