COSCO Logistics (Europe) is Hamburg's best employer in logistics

Hamburg, 29.02.2016 - 5 stars. Personnel development pays off. It's not just specific working conditions that employers can create to stay ahead in the battle for skilled workers and talent. "Companies in the Hamburg metropolitan region that take this to heart must be encouraged in their actions," says Werner Gliem, CEO of the Hamburg Logistics Initiative. The Logistics Initiative therefore cooperates with Faktenkontor and supports the annual award for "Hamburg's Best Employer".
The special logistics prize, awarded this year to COSCO Logistics (Europe) GmbH, is intended to recognize companies that successfully tackle these issues within the logistics sector. In addition to the award, the winner also receives coaching for junior managers from Dunkel, Vögele und Associates GmbH. "The further development of my employees is a matter close to our hearts," says Christina Albert, Administration Manager of the COSCO Logistics (Europe) branch in Hamburg. The coaching is therefore gladly used. Future-oriented talent development is a must and at COSCO, as one of the TOP 5 in the shipping industry, standing still is considered a step backwards - especially in personnel development.
The logistics industry in the Hamburg metropolitan region has earned its reputation as a job engine. From 2006 to 2013 alone, the number of people directly employed in logistics rose to 168,000. 380,000 people in the metropolitan region earn their money with and through logistics. Due to the constant growth, there is also a constant need for workers. Adapting working conditions to the needs and wishes of employees and investing in their health and satisfaction is therefore becoming increasingly important, even essential.
Personnel diagnostician Werner Sarges from Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg and IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research have selected "Hamburg's Best Employers" for the eighth time in a row and for the fourth time in a row, as the only special prize, also explicitly in the logistics sector. On Tuesday evening, the winners of the "Hamburg's Best Employers 2016" competition were presented with their awards at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
For the competition, Professor Sarges and his team analyzed the objective employer qualities of the participating companies by means of a management and employee survey in accordance with scientific standards. Seals are awarded in ranks of three, four and five stars. The aim of the process is for companies to find out where their strengths and weaknesses lie in the battle for sought-after specialists - and for applicants to find out where they can find the best working conditions. red
