New compact low-platform truck from Linde Material Handling

Linde Material Handling has launched a new electric pedestrian pallet truck with a load capacity of 1.5 tons. It is said to be an "ideal helper for loading and unloading trucks, last-mile deliveries and short transports in industrial applications".

"With the new Linde MT15, we are launching a simple truck that still has all the key features of the Linde DNA, such as quality, safety, comfort and performance," explains Toufik Oussou, Senior Product Manager Warehouse Trucks at Linde Material Handling. The truck has been designed to be more compact so that it can be maneuvered in the tightest of spaces. The chassis length (dimension L2) is 400 millimetres, the overall width (dimension B1) is 620 millimetres, and the total weight of 180 kilograms also allows it to be used in mezzanines or on lifting platforms. With a maximum travel speed of 5 km/h with load or 5.5 km/h without load, the truck claims to be faster than most other low lift pallet trucks in this class. Its gradeability is also above the market average: the Linde MT15 can climb 8 percent when loaded and 20 percent when unloaded. A 48-volt lithium-ion battery with either 20 Ah or 30 Ah provides sufficient power for up to three hours of work. The device "fills up" with power using the built-in on-board charger at any suitable socket.

To prevent injuries, the low lift truck now has a long, low-mounted tiller that creates a large safety distance between people and the vehicle during travel. When the tiller is upright, the truck can be moved at low speed thanks to the creep speed function. This is particularly helpful when maneuvering in confined spaces, for example on truck loading areas or in narrow production and storage areas.

The enhanced tiller head is also designed for protection and comfort. An all-round metal ring protects the operator's hands, and the switches for direction of travel, initial lift, creep speed and horn as well as the safety bounce button are located in the center. The deep-drawn chassis prevents foot injuries and prevents damage to the load wheels. A multifunctional display provides information on operating hours, maintenance due, battery status and error codes.
