Cranes and chain hoists
KITO's perfect interaction at Kässbohrer
Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG's production facility is a prime example of how well KITO chain hoists and Erikkila crane systems work together.
The company Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is a leading manufacturer of off-road vehicles - the entire production in the Swabian town of Laupheim is designed for the manufacture of the "PistenBully". Various models of vehicles for the international ski slopes are assembled there under this name.
Back in April 2016, Kässbohrer decided to update its factory building and convert the system to a sophisticated lifting and transport system from Finnish crane specialist Erikkila - a completely new production line with a revised workflow was created within nine months. KITO EUROPE provides the perfect complement to the light crane profiles: When assembling "PistenBully" snow groomers, the KITO ER2 electric chain hoist is arranged with the Erikkila light crane systems as a workplace crane.
Whereas the jerky handling used to disrupt the assembly of the snow groomers, the fitters can now work more safely, efficiently and precisely. The frequency inverter on the KITO electric chain hoist ensures smooth lifting and precise positioning. At Kässbohrer, the ER2 electric chain hoist carries components weighing up to 750 kg - with virtually no load swing! While the latest technology is used, the issue of safety is not neglected: The KITO hoist is fully technically equipped as standard, including overload protection thanks to a carbon friction clutch, electromagnetic brake and nickel-plated load chain of grade T, DAT (G 80) design in accordance with standard EN 818-7.
After KITO acquired the light crane manufacturer Erikkila in January 2018, joint projects are increasingly being implemented.
