Intuitive load guidance now up to 250 kg
Demag chain hoist with balancer function
Demag is expanding the DCBS chain hoist series introduced last year with a balancer function that enables intuitive guidance directly at the load and without further actuation of the control pendant.
Until now, the DCBS could handle loads of up to 160 kg. Now the range has been extended up to a load capacity of 250 kg. Typical applications for the chain hoist balancer include positioning and handling delicate loads with precision - for example when assembling machine components and joining parts in a horizontal direction. As with the previous versions, operators can choose between the "handle guidance" and "load guidance" operating modes. In load guidance mode, the suspended load is moved directly to the desired height using light impulses with the hands. This allows it to be positioned intuitively and precisely without the operator having to take the "detour" via the control switch.
The joining mode is also available, which prevents the load from swinging upwards. This creates the conditions for precise joining of components horizontally and increases the speed of assembly. The fourth operating mode of the DCBS is the load pick-up mode. This function is useful when changing tools or removing parts from sensitive fixtures or test benches, for example. The balancer can be set to lift the load until a preset force is reached. The DCBS thus enables the lifting and pretensioning of the load handling attachment - with the result that the load can be removed from a device, for example, without sagging or tilting upwards. At the same time, the machine or device is protected against excessive forces being applied.
All operating modes are linked to additional protection and safety functions such as adjustable load or speed limits. The higher load capacity is not the only new feature of the DCBS chain hoist. The load sensor, which enables balancing, is integrated into the D-Grip Servo operating handle on the models available to date. A further balancer option is now available that extends the range of applications. In this additional version, the sensor is still located in the load line, but outside the operating handle. This means that the DCBS can be installed in customer-specific handling systems - for example in lifting columns and manipulators. This system is also suitable for applications in which larger load handling attachments are used or large components (e.g. metal sheets) are lifted, making it difficult for the operator to reach the control switch.
