Innovative power supply for monorail systems
Abus presents the Abu-Powerline for overhead monorail systems, an innovative system for transmitting electrical control signals and power to hoists and pendant stations by means of an energy chain. This innovative new feature in the power supply of Abus monorail systems sets new standards in terms of safety, reliability, performance and ergonomics.
The Abu-Powerline offers numerous advantages, including safety thanks to the elimination of cable slack and open cable trays; reliability thanks to the closed system, which is insensitive to dust and moisture, and a highly flexible special cable designed for a high number of bending cycles; Performance with improved approach dimensions without a cable station; ergonomics thanks to lightweight and robust plastic guide rails and an energy chain made of glass fiber-reinforced plastic with excellent gliding and rolling properties as well as a control carriage with twelve-way ball bearings for smooth and quiet travel even with long control lengths or lifting heights.
In addition, stocked components enable short delivery times and fast availability. Compared to conventional trailing cables, the Abu-Powerline offers a number of advantages. Its compact design, which enables direct mounting on the crane girder and offers mechanically protected cables, prevents damage and wear. In addition, there are no hanging cable loops, which eliminates the risk of snagging on other hall installations.
In contrast to trailing cables, which have a so-called cable station due to the accumulation of the cable on one side of the crane girder and can restrict the travel path of the control trolley, the Abu-Powerline offers maximum travel path in both crane girder directions. With its slim design, it now offers a standard solution for safe lifting that meets modern requirements.
