Previously, the company from Kevelaer near the Dutch border had four warehouses spread over a radius of 20 kilometers. Around one million items of clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories were stored at these locations. The company, founded by Carsten Stück, is not only known for its own brands "Seventyseven" and "Styleboom", but also for selling well-known brands such as "Only", "Vero Moda" and "Jack&Jones". More than 3,500 orders from the 77onlineshop are packed and shipped throughout Europe every day.

Scalability, flexibility and speed - the key success factors

Just nine years after the company was founded, the steep growth curve and the opportunity to fundamentally improve processes paved the way for the construction of a new logistics center in Geldern, 10 kilometers away, with 8,160 m² of hall space and a further 950 m² of space for offices, a photo studio and social rooms. Scalability, flexibility and speed in logistics have become decisive success factors for achieving customer satisfaction, not least due to the sharp rise in volatile volumes in recent years," explains Mathias Schenk, Managing Director Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics at Styleboom. "We are taking this development into account by consistently digitalizing our processes, bundling our logistics activities and automating them centrally from one location in the future."

A realization time of only 25 weeks

In order to meet these requirements and thus ensure future-proofing for the company, Styleboom is working with Element Logic to implement a fully automated robot-based AutoStore storage and picking system. Grid construction began three months after the contract was signed. The containers were brought in five weeks later, followed by an intensive test and training phase. The go-live date is 1 September after a total implementation period of 25 weeks. From this day onwards, 52 robots will move 51,850 containers stacked on 16 levels in Styleboom's new logistics center. Due to the use of space and the storage density, the floor area is only 1,360 m². A total of seven carousel ports will be available for storing and retrieving goods. Element Logic's scope of delivery also includes WMS and material flow control.
