New filaments for 3D printing

The motion plastics specialist igus has expanded its range of wear-resistant tribo-filaments for 3D printing to include the chemical-resistant iglidur C210 and now offers a total of six materials for the FDM process. Prototypes and small series for even more applications - for example in contact with aggressive cleaning agents - can be realized with this new solution. The filaments from igus are developed with friction and wear in mind - printed components made from these materials are up to 50 times more abrasion-resistant than standard plastics for 3D printing. iglidur C210 resists a variety of acids and solvents. The tribo-filament made of iglidur C210 is even immune to hydrogen peroxide, which is often used as a bleaching and disinfecting agent. The material is also characterized by high wear resistance, which guarantees a long service life of the printed component.
