Logistic Lights announces partnership with SoluM
At Logimat, Logistic Lights announced a new partnership with the ePaper ESL manufacturer SoluM. The company now wants to continue the idea of ergonomic and economical order picking with the integration of glare-free and energy-efficient ePaper technology.
Logistic Lights offers an alternative to conventional pick-by and put-to-light modules. How it works: Employees are visually guided to their destination by a centrally installed, 360-degree moving light spot.
Innovative partnerships: Proximity sensors and ePaper
In addition to other innovations such as scan-free picking with proximity sensors from Digilo or the dynamic projection of warning notices in the area of conveyor vehicles, Logistic Lights now presented a new partnership with SoluM for paperless shelf labeling (electronic shelf labels, or ESL for short), mobile pick-by-light and fully digital pick lists/routing slips.
"The integration of Solum's ESL technology into our portfolio opens up new horizons for efficiency and flexibility in logistics," explains Achim Hendriks, Managing Director and Head of Development at Logistic Lights.
Keep an eye on stock without manually changing labels
The variable ePaper modules are updated wirelessly. This means that they show employees the current stock levels without the need for manual label changes, even when storage locations change. In addition to the 2.4 GHz WLAN band, the license-free sub-GHz band is also supported for interference-free operation, especially for industrial applications.
The ePaper displays used remain legible even without an uninterruptible power supply. This opens up areas of application that were previously not possible with wired modules. For mobile applications on picking trolleys, for example, ESL modules with LEDs and confirmation buttons ensure correct picking during multi-order picking.
Process-oriented approach
"Our customers appreciate our process-oriented approach and the implementation geared towards individual requirements," explains Hendriks. "The addition of ESL functionalities is another innovative medium for our visual assistants, but also an extension of our pre-integrated overall solution for order picking and material tracking. It allows our customers to keep the integration effort manageable and focus on staying ahead in a rapidly changing industry."
