Visitors can find out more about the compact and standardized tower storage system KASTOecostore in Hall 1 at Stand 1206. Also on display will be an automatic manipulator for sheet metal, with which users can realize a seamless connection between storage and processing machines.

Depending on the version, the KASTOecostore can hold sheets, pallets and other flat goods with a width of 1,524 millimetres and a length of either 3,048 or 4,000 millimetres. The system height is up to eight meters and can be flexibly selected - just like the respective loading heights: Users can define up to three different heights between 50 and 950 millimeters per storage system. This ensures a high storage density and the tower design also allows the room height to be utilized. The load carriers are automatically stored and retrieved and brought to the optimum loading and unloading height using a lifting mechanism. Additional lifting equipment such as a forklift truck is not required for cassette retrieval. This ensures short access times and an ergonomic working method.

The drive technology of the storage system is equipped with modern frequency inverters from Siemens and the drive motor is stationary. This enables particularly dynamic and precise storage and retrieval processes. Robust roller chains ensure long-lasting and low-maintenance operation. The steel structure consists of standardized rolled profiles and is dimensioned in accordance with the applicable earthquake guidelines. A comprehensive safety concept based on a safety control system prevents malfunctions and avoids costly downtimes. In addition, the Kastoecostore is equipped with the Kasto SmartControl machine control system as standard. This is particularly easy to operate thanks to an intuitive user interface with touchscreen. This allows fast and error-free operation, even with frequently changing operating personnel. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the storage system is also ideal for installation close to the machine.

Kasto has tailor-made manipulators in its portfolio for connecting automatic sheet metal storage systems to punching and laser cutting machines. One of these will also be on display at this year's BlechEXPO. It has both a vacuum traverse and a rake traverse. The vacuum traverse can be used to separate packs of sheets from the warehouse and place them on the table of the respective processing machine. Punched or laser-cut individual parts and the remaining grid can be removed from the working area of the machine using the rake traverse. This enables unmanned production with high throughput and relieves employees of the laborious and risky handling of large-format sheets. This makes the manipulators equally suitable for steel traders and industrial manufacturing companies.
