Xavier Garijo will be responsible for contract logistics at Schenker in the future. The chemist and physicist has many years of management experience, most recently at the consumer goods groups Reckitt Benckiser and Revlon & Elizabeth Arden. His fellow board member Thorsten Meincke has expertise in air and sea freight; the economist was in charge of global sea freight at the forwarding company Kuehne + Nagel, among others, and will therefore head the Air/Sea Freight division in future. Christian Drenthen will take over the newly established land transport division. He has been working for Schenker AG since 2015 and was most recently responsible for global overland transportation.

Ideally positioned for global competition

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the rail subsidiary DB Schenker, Alexander Doll, said: "I am delighted that we have succeeded in recruiting three top international managers to strengthen the Schenker Management Board team around CEO Jochen Thewes. DB Schenker is now ideally positioned to continue to grow profitably in the face of global competition."
