LogiMAT 2019
Swisslog wins major orders
As one of the world's leading providers of intralogistics automation solutions, Swisslog is increasingly establishing the SAP EWM warehouse management system alongside its own SynQ software platform. The company recently won three projects with a total volume of over 17 million euros, a significant part of which is SAP EWM integration.
The orders are from Festo, a specialist in automation technology from Germany, from Aqipa, a distributor in the consumer electronics sector from Austria, and from the Swiss technology group Bühler. In all three cases, a combination of the AutoStore compact storage system and SAP EWM will be used. Swisslog is thus further expanding its position as the number 1 global AutoStore provider. "We are delighted that our development of the standard AutoStore concept with SAP EWM offers real added value for our customers. With the orders we have won, we are further establishing our SAP expertise on the market," says Dr. Christian Baur, CEO of Swisslog. "We are thus also responding to our customers' desire for even more variety from Swisslog in the software sector," adds Daniel Hauser, Managing Director Region Central Europe & Middle East at Swisslog.
Global support with a long-term focus
Festo has commissioned the Swiss intralogistics specialist to build a new, state-of-the-art logistics hub in Shanghai. The cornerstone of the project is an AutoStore solution integrated by Swisslog for the storage and picking of Festo products. The cooperation with Swisslog as a global partner with strong teams in consulting, implementation and service in Europe and China was particularly convincing for Festo. In addition, AutoStore's expertise with SAP EWM convinced Festo to award the contract to Swisslog.
The Austrian supplier of consumer electronics accessories Aqipa also decided to manage its AutoStore system in Kundl near Innsbruck with SAP EWM after testing various software options. The technology company Bühler also uses this link for its new "Customer Service Hub" at its Swiss site in Uzwil. "Swisslog and Bühler have a long-standing partnership," emphasizes Urs Bührer, Head of Logistics Customer Service at Bühler, "so it made sense to draw on the company's extensive software expertise."
LogiMAT 2019: Software for continuous optimization
Swisslog will also be presenting intelligent software solutions for the logistics of tomorrow at the international trade fair LogiMAT from February 19 to 21. In addition to SAP EWM, the focus will be on Swisslog's SynQ software, which forms the heart of the dynamic exhibit with robot-based single-item picking. SynQ orchestrates the interaction of the individual warehouse technologies and enables effective monitoring of ongoing processes. For users, this means greater transparency of the material flow processes and the possibility of continuous optimization.
