Jeff Bezos enters the Logistics Hall Of Fame

The Logistics Hall of Fame has gained another prominent member. Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and internet pioneer, has made the leap to become one of the most famous logisticians in the world. Bezos will be officially inducted on November 9 at the annual Logistics Hall of Fame Gala Reception in the Erich Klausener Hall of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in Berlin. Jeff Bezos can claim to have revolutionized mail order logistics. He was the first to recognize that software and logistics are the key to transforming shopping-driven retail into demand-driven online retail. With the combination of software, delivery efficiency, automation and long-term thinking, the computer scientist has fundamentally changed transport and intralogistics and made Amazon the benchmark for the industry, according to the jury statement. Almost every new technical development today is influenced by online retail, and many are even completely geared towards it. He has also impressively demonstrated that innovative logistics makes an important contribution to a company's success.
