More flexible warehouse layouts
AutoStore introduces Bin Lift 2.0
The robust vertical lift ensures the accessibility of AutoStore bins in multi-storey warehouses, enabling a flexible storage layout and lower real estate costs. Compared to the previous Bin Lift 1.1, version 2.0 offers mechanical improvements and a better user experience thanks to a significant reduction in noise, according to the company.
"By allowing flexible use of space in the warehouse while increasing bin accessibility, customers need less square meters of floor space, which ultimately reduces costs," comments Carlos Fernández, Chief Product Officer at AutoStore. The redesigned Bin Lift offers optimized performance through improved rollers, rails, motor and electronics and is easier to assemble than the previous model. In addition, the new model can be used in two configurations: As a Grid-to-Port in combination with AutoStore's SwingPort, the Bin Lift is an extension of the AutoStore Grid and enables order picking on a floor below the storage area. In the grid-to-grid constellation, the Bin Lift 2.0 creates a seamless connection between two independent AutoStore grids and enables customers with multi-storey warehouses to optimize processes in existing facilities with the new accessibility of bins.
Carlos Fernández adds: "A positive working environment promotes wellbeing and productivity, and we carefully consider this when developing new innovations. In the grid-to-port configuration, the Bin Lift 2.0 significantly reduces the noise level for the operator at the port. The new motor, gearbox and placement mean that the noise intensity is reduced by a factor of 10, from 70 dBA to 60 dBA."
