Radar sensors for more accurate level measurement
It will be shown how limit levels can be precisely detected and fill levels continuously monitored, in direct or indirect media contact. New additions to the portfolio are guided radar sensors in stainless steel housings with IP66/IP68 protection for maintenance-free level measurement of liquids and solids as well as for interface measurement. The guided radar pulses along the probe ensure precise and stable measurement with an absolute reproducibility of ± 1mm and a maximum linearity deviation of ± 2mm. Balluff offers hygienic versions for pharmaceutical and food applications. Another novelty is a self-adhesive capacitive sensor head with IP 64 protection for non-contact, continuous level detection on non-conductive container or pipe outer walls made of glass, plastic or ceramic. Balluff will be demonstrating how modern production concepts and Industry 4.0 solutions can benefit from intelligent sensors with two new optical sensors. These combine various measuring principles in one device and, in addition to the switching signal via IO-Link, also provide information on the sensor status and ambient conditions.
