ebm-papst presented the ArgoDrive drive and steering system at the LogiMAT stand. It combines the propulsion and steering functions in one drive unit and consists of a motor, gearbox, steering system, sensors and all the necessary connections.
The infinite steering angle enables the surface mobility of a driverless transport vehicle. The use of just two ArgoDrives guarantees complete omnidirectional freedom of movement. ebm<nonbreaking-hyphen>papst offers the drive and steering system in the Light, Standard and Heavy versions for weight classes up to 100, 300 and 500 kilograms respectively. Another trade fair highlight is the modular drive system with the ECI 63 brushless internal rotor motor, which is now available with EtherCAT. EtherCAT combines the advantages of Ethernet-based communication with the simplicity of classic fieldbus systems, which means that complex IT solutions can be avoided.
