With the Reeltec and Festoontec product series, TKD Kabel offers a portfolio of robust cable solutions for cranes and hoists. The specialist for application-oriented cable solutions thus also supports the increasing digitalization and automation of port facilities.
Demurrage is expensive, which is why fast unloading of ship cargoes is an important competitive factor for ports. Many port facilities are now fully automated. They require reliable cabling that makes the high unloading and loading speed for short handling times possible in the first place. TKD Kabel supplies wires and cables for cranes and hoists whose applications require a high level of functionality under demanding operating conditions. The spectrum ranges from flat ribbon cables and rubber hose cables to control cables with supporting elements, all of which can withstand fluctuating temperatures, salty air and high speeds of movement. At the heart of the portfolio are two product series for the most important applications.
Cable for reel application
The Reeltec series offers shielded and unshielded cables that can be reeled and are robust and durable. With their low weight, they are particularly suitable for use in industrial crane and harbor crane systems. Here, power cables are automatically wound and unwound on reels as the crane moves. The Reeltec-PUR-HF is one of the products in the series. The 0.6/1kV cable has a PUR sheath that is abrasion and oil-resistant and halogen-free. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and can also be used in wet conditions. It achieves its high performance for power and signal supply even with long travel distances and at extreme temperatures between -50 °C and +90 °C.
Solution for towing applications
High flexibility is required of cables in trailing applications. They hang in loops on cable carriers, for example rollers or trolleys. They are carried horizontally along a rail as the crane moves. The Festoontec series offers shielded and unshielded power and control cables that have been specially developed for this application. One product highlight here is the Festoontec H07VVH6 flat cable with a black PVC sheath. It enables a small bending radius and a suspension height of up to 35 meters. It can be used in dry, damp and wet environments and at temperatures ranging from -35 °C to +60 °C.
