Martin Schrüfer,

New Management Board for active logistics

On August 1, active logistics AG made new appointments to its Management Board. Thomas Braun, Michael Otto and Hermann Schmidt are now managing the software provider and IT service provider for the logistics industry on an equal footing. The company's shareholders have also elected a new Supervisory Board.

All three new board members have been with the company for more than 15 years and already hold management positions in two of the four branches of the public limited company. They will remain active in their current roles. For the first time, the three-member board is now dividing responsibility into departments across the company:

  • Thomas Braun (61) is responsible for administration. He has been with the company in Nuremberg since 1986. As a long-standing board member of active logistics Nürnberg AG, he has extensive experience in the areas of law and finance. He is also a founding partner of active logistics AG.
  • Michael Otto (39) is in charge of marketing and sales. His career at active logistics began in 2000 as a trainee IT specialist in Herdecke, where he later became division manager, authorized signatory, branch manager and has been responsible as managing director for the past six years.
  • Hermann Schmidt (61) heads up the Development division. He has been a project manager in Nuremberg since 1988, primarily for major customers, and is currently a member of the management team there with power of attorney.

The new Management Board has set itself the goal of further advancing the joint corporate strategy. The IT service provider understands intelligent transformation as the individual support of companies from planning and implementation to the monitoring of its digitalization strategies. "The new Management Board members have played a key role in developing and establishing the corporate strategy," explains Arnold Kriener. "I am delighted that we have been able to recruit these long-standing managers to succeed me."

The company's Supervisory Board was also newly elected. Wolfgang Müller is now Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Arnold Kriener, who previously resigned from his position as CEO of active logistics AG, has been appointed as his deputy. Together with Josef Rüst, the Supervisory Board now consists of three founding shareholders.
