Intuitive guidance via light signal
Unitechnik now offers a solution with integrated navigation for pick-by-light picking. The pick-by-light displays are programmed in such a way that, in addition to the number of items to be picked from the compartment, they can also display arrows pointing in the direction of the next picking compartment. An intelligent arrangement of the displays in the storage aisles also means that a large proportion of the interfaces can be saved. Users benefit from intuitive guidance via light signals as well as material and cost savings. The basic idea behind the solution is to divide the picking aisles into longitudinal and vertical axes. In contrast to conventional pick-by-light systems, where a display is attached to each compartment, the pick-by-light interfaces are only located along the longitudinal axis. They indicate which quantity is to be picked from which level. In this way, around 80 percent of the pick-by-light displays can be saved. Arrows at the picking station and on the pick-by-light rail show the way to the next removal compartment.
