AI in logistics

pb,

Artificial intelligence has long been involved in the warehouse

PSI Logistics GmbH will be presenting new AI-based functions in the PSIwms warehouse management system at LogiMAT in Stuttgart 2024. To this end, "PSIwms AI" will be presented to a larger specialist audience for the first time in a live simulation.

In a pilot project with the Polish fashion group LPP, the AI platform was able to increase the efficiency of the picking process by more than 20 percent.

PSIwms AI is a platform based on artificial intelligence that analyses and optimizes WMS-supported logistics processes. A digital twin is used to analyze thousands of warehouse operation scenarios every hour and make recommendations for improvement. A new feature is that the platform is directly connected to PSIwms via an interface. This means that changes in the physical warehouse are automatically transferred to the digital twin in real time and taken into account.

LPP S.A. is a listed Polish clothing group based in Gdansk that already uses PSIwms AI. Due to the very strong increase in order volume in e-commerce, LPP opted for the solution of its long-standing WMS partner PSI Logistics. In the pilot project at the distribution center in Pruszcz Gdański, the efficiency of the picking process has already been increased by more than 20 percent with the support of AI.

In addition to the live simulation, the PSI presentation on "PSIwms AI - how an AI-supported tool optimizes processes at the fashion company LPP" will take place on Wednesday, 20 March at 4:30 pm in the Forum South in Hall 8.

Automated testing without programming knowledge

PSIwms AI is based on the automated testing function already integrated in PSIwms. This ensures that all relevant processes continue to function permanently and with consistent quality following changes in the warehouse or in the software. Based on a test database, the program regularly simulates all predefined test cases automatically and identifies any need for action. In PSIwms, for example, hundreds of deliveries with different control parameters can be virtually received, transferred, picked and dispatched within a few minutes - without manual intervention by the user and without affecting the physical warehouse.

Software for route planning, supply chains and production

The PSIglobal software with intelligent supply chain network design, which supports companies in optimizing their sourcing strategies by means of supplier evaluations based on central criteria, will also be presented. This includes, for example, sustainability aspects such as determining the CO2 footprint in the network and overcoming challenges along the supply chain law.

The PSItms software for efficient planning, control and accurate invoicing of transport services will also be on show. The system provides all the data required to operate efficiently in day-to-day business. This data and the logistical intelligence in the planning ensure the financial success of integrated logistics solutions.

PSI will also be presenting the new version of the ERP system PSIpenta/ERP 10, which offers numerous new features for effective and streamlined production processes.

The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software manufacturer with over 2,200 employees, PSI has been the technology leader for process control systems since 1969, which ensure sustainable energy supply, mobility and production by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization processes. The innovative industry products are distributed both directly and via the cloud-based PSI App Store.
