Jury member dies suddenly
IFOY mourns the loss of Anders Karlsson
Anders Karlsson, a member of the IFOY Awards jury, died suddenly on September 30 at the age of 50 at his home near Linkoping, Sweden, it has now been announced.
Anders Karlsson was editor-in-chief of Svensk Åkeritidning for many years, author, presenter, organizer of numerous industry events and an award-winning journalist. In addition to the IFOY AWARD and the Logistics Hall of Fame, he was also a judge at the International Bus/Coach and International Van of the Year (IVOTY) & International Pick-up (IPUA).
"Anders was a highly professional and competent trade journalist, but above all he was simply a great person and friend. It was always a pleasure to meet him in person. He was one of those people who made all our lives a little better with his friendliness and likeable nature," writes Anita Würmser, Executive Chairperson of the IFOY jury. And further:
"We last sat together at the bar at IFOY TEST DAYS in February 2020 and told each other stories about logistics journalists and the logistics industry. It was such a great evening. And we were still on the phone in July, happy to hear that we'd be seeing each other again soon at the next IFOY Test. I am deeply saddened and can't even imagine that I will never see him again. I will miss his kindness and his laughter, but at the same time I will always remember him. R.I.P. Anders. Never forget!"
