Logistics service providers: Raben takes over Busse Logistik

Mannheim, 12.07.2017 - At the end of June, the Raben Group signed an agreement to take over the Kassel-based forwarding company Busse Logistik. The takeover is currently still subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. The company employs more than 140 people and offers national and international transportation services. The acquisition is part of the long-term development of the Raben Group in the German market. The forwarding company has its own fleet of vehicles, which means that the majority of transport operations can be carried out independently. Busse Logistik focuses on groupage and full truckload transports as well as contract logistics. The company's annual turnover amounted to 15 million euros in 2016.

"With over 80 million consumers, Germany is one of the largest markets in Europe," says Ewald Raben, CEO of the Raben Group. "Our goal is for Germany to become our most important market by 2018. By then, we will have established our own independent distribution network in Germany with more than 30 locations. The acquisition of Busse Logistik fits perfectly into this strategy." This is the fourth acquisition since the start of the year. Raben Trans European Germany took over the business operations of the former Rhenus sites in Fellbach and Weilimdorf on January 1, 2017. This was followed by the takeover of the transport and logistics service providers Exice GmbH and RLZ Baden GmbH in Karlsruhe in March. On May 3, the Raben Group signed an agreement to acquire a branch of the SCHMALZ + SCHÖN Logistik Group in Kamen, North Rhine-Westphalia. This was followed by the takeover of Busse Logistik in the Kassel area. red
