Group7 heralded the next stage of the project for the new logistics center in Munich with a ground-breaking ceremony. The event was attended by the company's managers, political representatives, the construction management and representatives of the general contractor.

The logistics center will be the Munich-based company's largest. It has a floor space of 65,000 square meters. Of this, 5,000 square meters will be office space. 210 new jobs will be created there.

"We are proud to be standing here today. After the inauguration of the new facility, Group7 will have a total of 360,000 square meters of logistics space in Germany. The new logistics center is an important pillar for the development of our company. At the same time, we also need the capacity to meet the needs of our customers," explained Günther Jocher, CEO of Group7.

Start of the building construction phase

The earthworks have been completed. The building construction phase has begun. "I am particularly looking forward to the implementation of our plans for our head office, which will be designed as an office campus. We want to do everything we can to make our employees feel at home.

The plans include lounges, lounges and a networking area, as well as a roof terrace with seating and barbecue facilities," emphasized Daniel Jocher, Junior CEO of Group7 and project manager.

The new building is well connected: Munich Airport is only 5 minutes away, which is a decisive advantage for Group7's air freight business segment. It is also 5 minutes to the A92 highway and 30 minutes by car to Munich city center. The transshipment station in Munich-Riem can be reached in half an hour.

The new center is to be audited by the DGNB and receive a gold certificate, as do all of Group7's logistics facilities.
