Where to put the empty pallets?
Transporting industrial pallets, special pallets or pallet cages from A to B as fully automatically as possible - this is a requirement that often needs to be met in the field of intelligent material flow. But where to put the goods that are not currently needed? Where can a large number of empty pallets be stored in a small space until they are needed again?
The answer: in an empty pallet magazine. This serves as a dispenser or buffer for pallets or containers that are not currently required. Depending on the design of the magazine or pallet, up to 20 units can be buffered. The typical application is the empty pallet (Euro pallet or industrial pallet). In conjunction with conveyor technology (roller conveyors or chain conveyors), the magazine automatically supplies subsequent workstations with empty pallets. This eliminates downtimes that occur during manual pallet changing.
How it works: A stack of empty pallets is placed on the feeding conveyor system using a pallet truck or forklift. The pallets are stacked either by a vertical lift attached from below or by pneumatic holding arms gripping from above. The pallets in the magazine are lifted in the process. The new pallet entering the magazine is transported under the existing pallet stack. The stacking magazine destacks the pallets as specified and feeds them individually to the subsequent work stations.
