Versatile with vacuum
At Fachpack, J. Schmalz GmbH will be presenting solutions for automated and manual handling with vacuum in the packaging and food industry. New products at the Schmalz stand include the SPOB1f oval tubular bag suction cup for flow-wrap packaging processes in packaging machines. Schmalz will also be presenting a material development specifically for the food industry at Fachpack: SI-MD bellows suction pads made of metal-detectable silicone contain a small percentage of metal oxide, which is detected by metal detectors. Schmalz thus prevents the contamination of baked goods, bread, pizza or muesli bars: If suction cups are not replaced in time and tear, unwanted materials in food are detected immediately. Bellows suction pads made of SI-HD (heavy-duty silicone) are also suitable for the food sector. They are highly wear-resistant and are used when a particularly long service life is required - for example with rough foodstuffs or packaging. Both suction pad types are FDA-compliant.
