Logistical helpers for rental warehouses from Lödige Industries
There are currently over seven million square meters of storage space in around 2,700 rental warehouses throughout Europe - and the market is growing steadily. To make self-storage even more convenient for users in rental properties, Lödige Industries has developed two warehouse elevators that are particularly suitable for installation in existing buildings and racking systems.

The first self-storage facilities were installed in Europe back in the early 1980s and have been growing in popularity ever since. Accordingly, more and more facilities are being put into operation. Particularly in the case of rental properties, self-storage operators are often faced with the challenge of not being able to intervene in the building structure as desired. It is usually extremely difficult to integrate elevators into existing properties. In addition, many elevator solutions do not allow several people to travel with the goods. Lödige Industries solves these difficulties with the Sherpa and Escorta goods elevators.
About Lödige Industries
The Lödige Industries Group, headquartered in Warburg, Germany, was founded in 1948 and has independent headquarters in America, Asia, the Middle East and many EU countries. The family-owned company currently has over 1,000 employees around the world. Lödige offers logistics conveyor systems and elevators for a wide range of industries and specializes in complex material flow systems for logistics tasks. The company is the global market leader for cargo handling terminals. In 2015, Lödige Industries installed Europe's largest public automated parking system in Aarhus, Denmark.
Compact and uncomplicated
The two goods elevators are particularly suitable for transporting smaller loads and goods weighing up to 3,000 kg. They can also be integrated into existing buildings as the dimensions are space-saving. The minimum pit depth required is only 70 mm to a maximum of 130 mm, depending on the load capacity requirement, but this can also be dispensed with completely by using a drive-on wedge - a major advantage for rental properties, as both the Escorta and the Sherpa can be installed without having to touch the floor. The electric motor drive means that no machine room is required, as is the case with hydraulic drive systems, for example. The motor is installed centrally at the top of the shaft, which also saves space. According to Lödige Industries, this compactness of the elevator solutions is unique on the market. Based on the standard equipment - consisting of the self-supporting steel shaft, the cabin with emergency intercom, cabin lighting and control system - Lödige Industries also offers individual solutions. These include fire doors and evacuation drive in case of fire, drive-on wedge (instead of a pit), deflector strips in the cabin and individual RAL color design.

Intra says: Lifting more beautifully
This report gives me hope: the freight elevator for my own home is getting closer and with it an end to lugging all sorts of things from A (downstairs!) to B (mostly, of course: upstairs!). Joking aside, a company has developed a great solution here.
Admission for several accompanying persons
A special feature of the Escorta warehouse elevator is that it is approved for more than one person to accompany the goods. Particularly delicate or large-volume loads are difficult for one person to handle. Several people are already required in the elevator to transport the goods safely. Previously, only one attendant was permitted in warehouse elevators. With the Escorta from Lödige Industries, several people can accompany goods. This makes the transportation of goods much easier. As a more cost-effective alternative, the Sherpa elevator offers all the advantages of the Escorta warehouse elevator - apart from the ability to carry people.
Passenger transport for the safe transportation of loads
The Sherpa and Escorta warehouse elevators are logistical helpers that are safe to transport, easy to install in existing buildings and easy to maintain. Lödige Industries supports its customers and their elevator systems from the first planning step through installation to maintenance. In self-storage facilities in particular, the elevator solutions facilitate use and can be installed quickly, cost-effectively and, above all, without major intervention in the building fabric.
