Lufthansa Cargo puts two more Boeing 777Fs into operation

Lufthansa Cargo's fleet has grown by two Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft. The aircraft have recently been given the aircraft registration numbers D-ALFJ and D-ALFK and are stationed at the airline's home hub, Frankfurt Airport.

"We are very pleased that we can now offer our customers the capacity of a total of fifteen highly efficient wide-body freighters," said Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo. "We will continue to operate our freighters flexibly in line with customer requirements in the future. Together with the additional cargo capacities of Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings Discover, which are now growing again, they form our dense, global network."

With the two new additions, Lufthansa Cargo's Frankfurt fleet now comprises eleven Boeing 777F wide-body freighters, plus the capacity of four aircraft of the same type operated by the AeroLogic joint venture.

The D-ALFK is a brand-new aircraft from the Boeing plants in Everett in the US state of Washington. With this acquisition, Lufthansa Cargo has now exercised all its options to purchase wide-body freighters from the manufacturer. The D-ALFJ is an acquisition from the second-hand market. In order to be able to make the freighter's capacity available to customers as quickly as possible, the elaborate livery in the usual Lufthansa design has been dispensed with. For the time being, the aircraft is completely white and only has a fuselage decal.
