Mobile transport robots

Safelog expands its portfolio

The AGV family from Safelog is growing. With the AGV M4-C, the technology company from Markt Schwaben is launching a new transport robot with a scissor lift system.

In contrast to its counterpart with lifting pins, the new mobile transport robot transports the freight using a lifting mechanism. This means that the transported goods no longer necessarily have to stand on rollers. By expanding its portfolio, Safelog is opening up a new area of application for the M-Class AGVs.

With the AGV M4-C, Safelog is expanding the M-series product segment. The mobile transport robot is based on the successful AGV M4 model. The main difference between the two types in the M device class lies in the transport mechanism. The AGV M4-C has a scissor lift mounted on both sides and no lifting pin. This means that load carriers that are not mounted on castors can now also be transported. Thanks to its low overall height of 220 mm, the AGV can drive under and lift almost all standard market racks, pallets and load carriers (without castors). The scissor lift has a maximum lifting height of 40 mm. If the underride height of the load carrier exceeds approx. 240 mm, specially developed intermediate frames can be used to close these gaps and ensure safe transportation.

The transported goods are lifted horizontally using the new lifting mechanism in the form of two 50 mm wide rails attached to the sides. Thanks to the two elongated devices, the AGV M4-C offers a more even load distribution on the AGV than is possible when lifting with point-attack lifting mechanisms. The reason for this is the increased support surface. This means that less stable load carriers, such as wooden pallets, can also be transported. With the scissor lift, the AGV M4-C can lift a maximum load of 1,000 kg.

Identical performance data of the models

From the outset, the AGV M4 was designed for use with both lifting pins and scissor lift. The two AGVs largely have the same basic structure and the same performance data. This applies to the steering as well as the software and the materials used. Only the hull of the M4-C has a more solid design and the load-bearing structures have been reinforced. These modifications and the addition of the scissor lift on both sides increase the weight and width of the new model to 302 kg and 600 mm.
