App for more safety in the warehouse

The software service provider Cap3 has developed an app that ensures greater safety when working alone in high-bay warehouses. With the help of a sensor, it records the employee's movements and triggers an alarm if they remain motionless, for example as a result of an accident. The app was developed for Hermes Fulfilment GmbH.

"If the operating technician remains motionless for a certain period of time, a pre-alarm is triggered, which the employee can stop by moving," explains Felix Magedanz, Managing Director of Cap3. If he fails to do so, an emergency call is automatically sent to the control center via the mobile network. The app then triggers an acoustic locating signal so that the employee can be found more quickly.
