Timocom increases user numbers and turnover
Timocom remains on course for growth. The operator of the Smart Logistics System recorded more movement last year, and not just on its freight exchange. The IT company, which operates across Europe, made the biggest leap in 2018 with applications for the digitalization of order management in logistics.
The number of users who handle their transportation digitally via the IT system reached a new high of 130,000 last year (2017: 127,000). Turnover increased by a full ten percent in 2018, rising by 6.7 million to 74.6 million euros. The IT service provider now has around 43,000 customers (2017: 40,000). "The move from a transport platform to a system platform is bearing fruit," comments Timocom's company spokesperson Gunnar Gburek on the results of the recently published annual report. "Today, Timocom provides our customers with everything they need to digitally network partners and processes in logistics."
The number of transport orders that Timocom customers have managed digitally via the TC Transport Order application has increased fivefold since the launch in 2017 to 60,869 orders (2017: 12,900 transport orders). The application enables users to manage their administrative processes with all parties involved - from transport requests to order placement and invoicing - via a single system without media discontinuity. Applications for route optimization or for determining the current location of vehicles were also heavily used: 32.7 million routes were calculated and 133,295 uploaded trucks were tracked.
The freight exchange application, the cornerstone of the company founded in 1997, also saw even more movement last year: the number of freight and loading space offers rose to a total of 93.9 million (previous year: 90.7 million). Further telematics interfaces were added: 245 telematics providers are now represented on Timocom, compared to 230 in 2017. With 508 employees (2017: 460) from 30 nations, a new record was also set in the personnel area.
