Fit for the future
Parcel service provider Whistl UK relies on Beumer
Whistl UK, the second largest parcel service provider in the UK, has commissioned the Beumer Group to install a new sorting system in Bolton. The company wants to be able to react more flexibly to the increase in online orders.
The Cross Belt Sorter will enable Whistl UK to sort small and medium-sized parcels and packages such as cartons, mailing bags and polybags particularly quickly in future. In addition to the cost-effective and therefore economical operation of the system, energy efficiency also played an important role in the investment decision. The new sorter has also been designed for particularly ergonomic operation - the employees have to lift less and turn less, and the need for monotonous movements has also been greatly reduced. "The unique design enables us to process the different packages very efficiently," explains Whistl Managing Director Nick Wells. "It allows us to respond flexibly to the increasing number of online orders from our customers. This is a key aspect of our growth strategy."
